About
James Fobes
Agricultural microbiologist and founder of James Fobes Landscapes, specializing in the biology, chemistry, and structure of Kauai's soils.
James came to landscaping through landscape operations and facilities management, where he saw how often properties paid to replace plants that failed for reasons nobody had diagnosed. Twenty-six years of applying agricultural microbiology to landscapes and small farms have given him the tools to look below the surface: at the soil's structure, its chemistry, and the living community that makes nutrients available to plants.
He founded James Fobes Landscapes to bring that approach to the properties that depend on their landscapes most: estates, resorts, HOAs, and the managers who look after them.
